Old Fashioned Recipe

Originally known as Cocktail Whisky, Old-Fashioned is a very old cocktail which, influenced by bartenders, has seen its name and ingredients evolve over the decades. Traditionally made with bourbon or rye whisky, lightly sweetened and flavoured with a bitterness, this most classic of cocktails is served over ice in a thick-bottomed glass with the eponymous name and topped with a touch of orange zest.

INGREDIENTS

  • 5 cl of bourbon
  • 0.5 cl of sparkling water
  • 2 strokes of angostura
  • 1 sugar cube
  • 1 orange peel

REALISATION
Pour the bitter on the sugar at the bottom of the glass. Then add the sparkling water before crushing the sugar until it is completely melted. Add the bourbon and ice cubes and mix with a spoon. You can finally add your orange zest. In the purest tradition, our Golden Promise bartender recommends Buffalo Trace bourbon.
