Vilanova Berbie is the first single malt created by the Castan distillery. A non-chill-filtered single malt, it is aged in ex-casks of dry and sweet white wines from French vineyards. The distillery's signature whisky, Vilanova Berbie offers a fine balance of malty notes (almond, raisin, dark chocolate), fruity (baked apple, cherry) and indulgent (caramel, vanilla, honey). Well-balanced, this whisky is one of those precociously mature whiskies that reach maturity well before the others.

Nose : Rich and complex. First, rich notes such as vanilla, honey, wax and caramel appear. Beautiful fruity aromas follow, such as candied apricot, plum, mandarin orange, apple and raisin, enhanced by sweet spices.

Palate : Rich and malty. Deliciously sweet, the palate gives way to dark chocolate and baked apple flavors, complemented by hints of nuts.

Overall : Pleasant and warm. The finish offers great freshness, with notes of tiger balm and cherry, as well as lovely woody flavors.
