DISTILLERIE CASTAN - VILANOVA

Founded in 1941 by Gilbert Castan, the Castan family estate, famous for its mobile red copper still, is located in Villeneuve-sur-Vère in the Tarn area. The estate grows barley and rye (160 hectares) as well as vines (7 hectares), which are used to produce renowned wines, notably under the Gaillac appellation. In 2007, when the distillery was built, the Castan family embarked on the creation of whisky, guided by their historic passion for spirits. The first distillery in Occitanie, Castan has created the Vilanova range of whiskies. All stages of production are carried out on the same site: growing the barley, brewing, distilling, ageing and bottling. Vilanova whiskies are first and foremost local whiskies, combining family know-how, rigorous craftsmanship and inimitable character.
