Although the first records of Maison Prunier date back to 1701, it was not until 1769 that its bottling and export activities really began. Produced with Ugni Blanc and Folle Blanche grapes, this version was distilled and casked at 69% ABV according to the cellar master’s distillation notes. Hailing from the hilly terroir of Les Borderies, it was aged for 82 years in a humid cellar before being transferred to a demijohn in 1996, where it remained until it was bottled in 2023. With an implausibly fresh expression, the timeless palette of flavours and aromas retraces almost 110 years of history. This cognac is presented in a magnificent wooden box that retraces the entire history of this eau-de-vie.

Color : Vieil or soutenu.

Nose : Complex, deep. The magnificent first nose is at once vanilla, spicy (ginger), waxy and lemony. Allowed to breathe, the aroma palette takes on honey (acacia), floral (broom, mimosa) and exotic (pineapple, passion fruit) nuances. A fine layer of tar then gradually fills the air.

Palate : Fresh, svelte. Exotic fruits (banana, pineapple), candied ginger and Emery cloth create a faithful reflection of the aroma palette. On the mid-palate, white grapes release their invigorating juices. The end of the palate reveals mouth-watering vanilla richness.

Overall : Long, full. With incredible presence, the start of the finish is divided into several outstanding herbal sequences (vine leaf, bay leaf, lime blossom). The dynamic and tangy after-taste is divinely exotic (passion fruit). The very end of the finish reveals an extremely delicate velvety texture.
