L'Encantada's renaissance range is an exceptional one, comprising three armagnacs bottled in bottles illustrated each year by the frescoes of a different artist. True collector's items, these are three vintages from different estates, three low armagnacs with complementary profiles, all the result of ancestral know-how. The 1995 Domaine Lous Pibous armagnac is aged in new oak barrels from the region. Fine and complex, it expresses intoxicating notes of cocoa, nougat and fruit tart, delicately enveloped by soft floral notes.
Tasting notes
Nose : Woody and elegant. Initially woody and sweet, the nose opens with more estheric notes of beeswax and currants. Dark chocolate and cherry liqueur follow, supported by the sweetness of meringue and hyacinth.
Palate : Woody and spicy. Old wood, a sign of long ageing in damp cellars. Spicy notes with hints of dried vegetables.
Overall : Powerful and long. On the finish, figs and dates are revealed, blended with the chocolate of the nose, all in power and length before finishing on a sensation of brown caramel.
