At Isautier, molasses-based rums are aged for 6-14 months in new barrels toasted according to the strict specifications established by the distillery’s consultant oenologist Mathieu Cosse. They are then transferred to red casks previously used for one the distillery’s other rums, where they remain until bottling. Following the same principle as L’Audacieux, part of this batch named L’Aventurier was bottled at 58% ABV. Creamy and diaphanous, the palette of flavours and aromas wonderfully embodies Isautier’s rich and generous style.

Color : Or profond.

Nose : Atately, ethereal. The complex and well-balanced first nose releases notes of grapefruit, lavender and clove. Allowed to breathe, polished wood brings excellent texture to the aroma palette. Coconut notes then appear.

Palate : Vigorous, generous. The attack brings the same coconut notes. On the mid-palate, tobacco, brioche and exotic juice flavours take us down rich paths. A hint of pepper spices up the end of the palate.

Overall : Creamy, delicate. At the start of the finish, creamy flavours of vanilla developinto a delicious ice cream.The mineral after-taste (pencil lead) makes way for a sprinkling of cane sugar notes and a delicious coconut cake. An excellent reminder.
