Basalte is the iconic whisky of the Twelve distillery.
This single malt is the result of blending various types of casks: red wine, cognac, Pineau des Charentes, PX (Pedro Ximénez), and new oak. The whisky was blended after several years of aging to achieve perfect harmony of aromas and a seamless integration of the alcohol.
It was bottled by gravity, without filtration or coloring, at 48%, after a slow reduction over several months.

Nose : Complex, combining caramelized fruits, mild spices, and gingerbread. It exudes aromas of raisin, prune, and rancio notes: walnut, dates, and dried figs.
Palate : A clean and bold attack, with a full and delicate mid-palate. A very slight bitterness at the finish adds structure to this nectar.
Overall : Flavorful with notes of rancio, prune, and fine wood.
