PROFILE : This single malt reveals a rich and intense profile, featuring peated, chocolate, camphoric, sea spray and smoky notes. Displaying a phenol level of 50 ppm, this cask strength bottling was matured in bourbon casks on the island of Yakushima, in southern Japan.

Heavily Peated
Nose : Refined, deep. From the outset, aromas of lemon, eucalyptus, ash, and shale lend immense elegance to an otherwise ethereal profile. Over time, it turns medicinal (Tiger Balm), silky (coconut), herbaceous (agave), and empyreumatic (Armenian incense paper).
Palate : Both dynamic and velvety. Initially, flavors of Williams pear take the palate by storm. This juicy opening then yields to a peat blanketed in intense smoke. Vibrant throughout, the back palate reveals notes of candied lemon alongside more mineral touches of slate.
Overall : Clean, precise. Herbaceous (green barley), mentholated, and ashy, it also reveals vanilla and exotic nuances (banana, pineapple). Realistically capturing the image of peat blocks drying in the sun, it turns peppery and saline over time (samphire, sea kale). Meanwhile, the dry residue in the empty glass writes a vibrant ode to malted, smoky barley.
