In 2017, the Torabhaig Distillery was established on the Isle of Skye, an iconic location for Scotch whisky. Once a sanctuary of the Lords of the Isles, this historic site proved ideal for reviving the craft of producing a high-quality peated single malt.
Five years later, the distillery unveiled the first release of The Legacy Series, marking the beginning of a journey that will continue until the release of a 10-year-old single malt. This limited series charts the evolution of Torabhaig’s style, highlighting peat-driven flavors that remain both elegant and subtle. Each new expression represents a milestone in the pursuit of a distinctive whisky that pays tribute to the heritage of the Isle of Skye.
Sound of Sleat is the fourth release in this series, further refining their signature style.
This heavily peated single malt (78+ ppm) was matured in ex-bourbon American oak and American white oak casks. Bottled at cask strength (between 63.2% and 63.6%), non-chill filtered and with no added coloring, it retains an elegant residual peat level of 14.5 ppm.
