Nose : Refined and complex. Gorgeous citrusy, oxidative (fresh orange juice), apricot and malty notes gradually give way to more vanilla-driven, buttery, and caramelised tones (toffee). With aeration, the aromatic profile turns spicier (ginger, nutmeg) and more herbaceous (pipe tobacco).
Appearance : vieil or à reflets cuivrés.
Palate : Lively and distinguished. Both honeyed (linden), juicy (apple, pear), candied (lemon) and now elegantly spiced (cardamom), the flavour profile becomes increasingly indulgent (calisson d’Aix, bêtise de Cambrai). Subtly liquoricy and oily, it opens up to resinous (pine) and roasted (coffee) notes.
Overall : Elegant and full-bodied. Naturally close to malted barley, it also reveals rooty (gentian) and spicy (grated ginger) accents. Returning strongly to the citrus notes of the nose, it then embraces chocolatey and toasted (biscuit) tones with remarkable smoothness. Both shaded and luminous, the retro-olfaction evokes with lyricism a radiant early autumn.
