Founded in 2005, the Ten Cane distillery produced a pure cane juice rum distilled in pot stills. Its name refers to a traditional practice of tying harvested cane stalks into bundles of ten. Owned by the LVMH group, the distillery was dismantled a few years after its creation. Selected by Velier, this version was aged from 2008 to 2012 in Trinidad and Tobago, then from 2012 to 2025 on the island of Barbados. Matured in bourbon casks, it is deeply imbued with the aromas and flavours of a fruity, balsamic, chocolatey, and nobly spiced rancio.

Color : cuivre orangé.

Nose : Fresh, pulpy. Unfolding a complex rancio marked by notes of apricot kernel, currants, dried apricot, cherry in brandy, roasted tropical fruits (banana, mango), mustard seed, and curry, the aromatic profile becomes, with aeration, more chocolatey, powdery (ginger), and heady (iris, lily).

Palate : Lively, vibrant. Anchored by a backbone of candied ginger, salted butter caramel, and tiger balm, the flavour profile gradually reveals notes of bitter orange, walnut, cane sugar, cocoa powder, dried fruits (date, hazelnut), and turmeric.

Overall : Rich, velvety. Rooty (ginseng), heady (ylang-ylang), and praline-like, it also unveils balsamic (cedar) and saline notes. Echoing the beautiful rancio found on the nose, the retro-olfaction alternates between apricot, chocolate, and spice (cardamom). The empty glass reveals liquorice and precious oak (fine-grain oak).
