PROFILE : This single malt reveals a rich and full profile, featuring chocolate, medicinal, citrus and balsamic notes. Selected exclusively by La Maison du Whisky for the Les Anthologistes Collection, this single cask No. 1101 was matured in a second-fill sherry cask and bottled at cask strength.

Nose : rich and full-bodied. Initially showing fermented notes (porridge), balsamic aromas (pine, thuja), powdery nuances (cocoa, coffee) and spices (clove, cardamom), the aromatic palette gradually becomes medicinal (balm, mustard poultice), liquorice-like and musky. With aeration, white fruits (pear, apple), candied citrus fruits (lemon, orange) and barley grains mingle deliciously.

Palate : lively and vibrant. Very lightly peated, the flavour profile is also mouth-wateringly saline. Lifted by orange zest and apricot flavours, it perfectly embodies the Scapa style. With a distinctly countryside character (dandelion), the finish on the palate is infused with thyme, oregano and verbena.

Overall : dense and dynamic. Spicy (clove, fresh ginger), chocolatey and once again fermented in character (oatcake), it also reveals herbaceous notes (cut hay, tobacco). Resinous (Oregon pine), ashy and smoky (soot), the retronasal aromas are smoothly vanilla-led (vanilla pod), while the dry extract left in the empty glass reveals exotic notes of mango and passion fruit.
