After ten years of maturation in the tropics, this version then continued its maturation in Scotland, with the last nine months spent in a sherry cask previously used for the Port Charlotte 2004 featured in the Antipodes catalogue. With almost volcanic minerality and continually renewed fruit, the aroma and flavour palette wonderfully embodies the Rest & Be Thankful mindset. Uniting Jamaica and Scotland, it also reveals a rare level of generosity and strength of character.

Color : Jaune doré.

Nose : Rich, well-developed. The medicinal (mustard, arnica), mineral (gum arabic) and herbal (camomile, lemongrass) first nose is impressively sunny. Allowed to breathe, fragrances of musk and yellow grapefruit are enveloped in empyreumatic notes of sleet and turpentine.

Palate : Lively yet smooth. The oil-rich (fuel oil) attack adds its own flavours of warm rubber. The mid-palate then ventures into extremely juicy fruity (pear, Mirabelle plum) and vanilla tones. The very end of the palate is honeyed (geranium, acacia).

Overall : Long, rich. The vanilla (flan), spicy (ginger, clove) and syrupy (hot cane sugar) start of the finish is slightly telluric (ash, soot). The exotic after-taste (banana, pineapple) is adorned with notes of precious antique wood and barley sugar.
