Nusbaumer's Suprême de Cassis, the perfect companion to cocktails, is made from an infusion of blackcurrant berries in eau-de-vie made from the same fruit, to which sugar liqueur is then added at a rate of 525 grams per litre of alcohol. The heady aromas and invigorating flavours of the fruit of this shrub from the Grossulariaceae family are reproduced in profusion, while its aromatic and taste palette, occasionally reminiscent of red fruit, is also peppered with particularly refined floral and herbaceous sequences.

Nose : Rich and deep. On the nose, extremely concentrated blackcurrant aromas highlight the perfect ripeness of the berries. On aeration, very subtle floral notes (rose, peony) spread their heady perfumes around the edge of the aromatic palette, while the centre of the palette evokes a very dense blackcurrant jam, pleasantly nuanced with scents of hay and elderberries.

Palate : Full-bodied and lively. Dressed in purple, the attack on the palate invites you to savour an absolutely delicious blackcurrant jelly and a divinely creamy ice cream. In the mid-palate, blackcurrant berries literally roll onto the palate. They carry with them herbaceous flavours (blackcurrant leaf) of remarkable freshness. The finish is as crisp as you could wish for.

Overall : Long and slender. Marked by notes of red fruit (raspberry, strawberry), the start of the finish is luscious. In terms of colour, the palette of tastes has taken on beautiful violet hues. The mouth-watering finish is an invitation to savour a terribly tempting blackcurrant tart. The aftertaste is floral (lilac, peony, hyacinth), while from the empty glass emerge bewitching aromas of cooked blackcurrants.
