Nose: From the very first nosing, New Code reveals a bright and fruity profile. Mirabelle plum leads the way, closely followed by juicy, sun-ripened vineyard peach. It then turns more indulgent, with roasted apricot adding a subtle pastry-like touch, enhanced by a drizzle of honey.
Palate: Buttery and highly indulgent, the palate extends this fruity burst, where peach and apricot take centre stage. Gradually, malty notes emerge, accompanied by vanilla and tonka bean. A hint of salinity brings balance and lift to the whole.
Finish: The finish is smooth, honeyed and deeply comforting. Candied fruits linger on the palate, while retro-olfaction reveals a delicate note of apricot kernel. Even the empty glass retains its character, with lingering aromas of vanilla and caramel. Pure indulgence.
Ninkasi Inspiration
With Inspiration, the Lyon-based distillery explores its winemaking roots. Structured by an initial maturation in cognac casks, the whisky is then finished in Gamay barrels from Beaujolais. A bold choice that highlights Ninkasi’s strong local identity.
Nose: From the first pour, Inspiration delivers a vibrant fruitiness. Cherry and prune bring immediate indulgence, while redcurrant adds a welcome touch of freshness.
Palate: Subtle and rounded, the palate is coated with notes of almond paste. This single malt reveals flavours of violet sweets, gentle liquorice and marzipan.
Finish: Subtle and spicy, the finish unfolds with notes of white pepper. A whisky that is not afraid to surprise.
Version Française – Le Malt
The first milestone in a range dedicated to high-end whisky trading, Le Malt is a single malt distilled in Alsace. Its complexity comes from a triple maturation in bourbon, Banyuls and sherry casks. It stands as a true tribute to the diversity of terroirs and the expertise of French blenders.
Nose: Delicate and floral, with notes of pear, hazelnut, bergamot, white flowers and white peach.
Palate: Fruity and spicy, revealing flavours of cinnamon, nectarine, liquorice stick and Golden apple.
Finish: Indulgent, with hints of tarte tatin, gentle spices, lilac, poached pear and a touch of chlorophyll.
Armorik Double Maturation Bio
This expression is a tribute to Brittany: the whisky is first aged in oak casks crafted by a Breton cooper, made from local forests, before continuing its maturation a few years later in oloroso sherry casks. A mark of quality craftsmanship that reflects a deep attachment to the region and true mastery of wood.
Nose: Fruity and elegant, with bright notes of citrus and apple, complemented by salted butter caramel.
Palate: Delicate oaky notes quickly evolve into cereal flavours, carried by an unexpected depth and generosity.
Finish: Hints of heather honey enhance the finish, supported by cereal notes and pleasant maritime touches.
Ninkasi The Flow
The Flow focuses on finesse and floral character. Its distinctive profile comes from the use of casks that previously held cognac and Viognier from the northern Rhône Valley. It showcases Ninkasi’s modern signature, built around an airy and fruit-forward aromatic profile.
Nose: On the first nosing of The Flow, a wave of freshness comes through. Freshly cut grass, honeysuckle and a hint of geranium lead the way. Then the intensity rises, with pear, pineapple and white grape bringing a vibrant fruity burst. Over time, the whisky reveals a more indulgent side, with notes of custard tart and bourbon vanilla, expressed with great softness.
Appearance: Golden.
Palate: Rounded and elegant, the palate opens on soft sponge cake, crunchy almonds and that lingering bourbon vanilla. Sun-ripened fruits follow, with peach, apricot and a touch of lychee adding an exotic twist. The tasting then evolves towards vegetal and resinous nuances, adding depth and complexity.
Finish: Long, generous and full of character. Golden pound cake lingers on the palate, enhanced by a subtle touch of white pepper on the final note. A fine balance between freshness and floral tones, for a tasting experience that stands out.
La Piautre – Séson
Produced by La Fabrique de Bières d’Anjou, Séson is a true “field-to-glass” whisky. Organic barley is grown and malted on site, distilled by a travelling bouilleur de cru, and aged in French oak casks. Each step highlights the craftsmanship of the Loire region. An authentic single malt, from grain to glass.
Nose: Refined and complex, revealing delicate aromas of raisins, quince, vanilla and gentle oak.
Colour: Light amber.
Palate: Complex and intense malt profile, combining roasted cereals and woody notes with subtle hints of dried fruits.
Finish: Long, with a slight saline touch.
