MACALLAN (The) Replique 1874

In September 1996, La Maison du Whisky offered as a preview in its 1997 collection catalogue the very first edition of the Macallan Replica series, Macallan 1874. Designed from bottles of Macallan from the late 19th century, this release matured in Fino Sherry casks – and not Oloroso, as was the case for the post-war Macallans – opened a collection made up of several limited editions. The result of a blend of nine casks with an average age of 18 years, it generated keen interest among collectors. It embodies the inimitable style of the finest Macallans. Since then, other “Replicas” have followed: 1841, 1851, 1861 and 1876.
