Description
Ancient Tamil texts, dating back to the Sangam period (300 BC), classify the motherland into five regions called Tinais, each with a distinct literary style, grammar, culture and even cuisine. This expression is inspired by the Kurinji flowers which paint the green mountains with purple when blossoming#P,& only once every 12 years. Kurinji Single Malt coincides with this timeless occasion, incorporating the floral flavours as well as fruity aromas in the palate and a remarkable finish with sweet and floral notes.
“We as a team are incredibly proud of this release and surely a very different single malt whisky with floral traits will entice consumers around the world for a wow! experience” – Ashok Chokalingam – Head Distiller.
Tasting notes
Nose : It is floral and fruity with notes of pear and melon. The vanilla is in the dark with slight toffee face to it. There is a perception of minerals as well.
Palate : Fruity with a tease of citrus notes and salted caramel. The mid palate is with the arrival of honey and vanilla duo complemented by a creamy toffee and floral notes. On the end, slight oak tone with a note of ginger candy.
Overall : Plantain and citrus finish.
