KILCHOMAN 14 ans Family Collection Rockside Ex-Bourbon Barrels

The Family Collection is a series of four single malts that celebrates Kilchoman’s craftsmanship and family heritage. Each year, the five members of the Wills family individually select exceptional casks, discovered in the most hidden corners of the distillery’s warehouse, reflecting their personal tastes and their vision of Kilchoman’s character. This first Family Collection series brings together four expressions aged 11, 14, 18, and 20 years, illustrating the influence of time and maturation in bourbon and sherry casks on the distillery’s unique style. This 14-year-old is a Rockside Barley expression, crafted from barley grown and malted on-site at the distillery, offering a unique interpretation of Kilchoman’s terroir. After 14 years of aging in bourbon casks, this release captivates with its remarkable balance. The nose reveals aromas of lemon zest, green apple, and vanilla, enriched with honey, coconut, and freshly baked shortbread. On the palate, the texture is creamy, carried by orchard fruits, delicately sweet malt, and oak spices, before Kilchoman’s characteristic coastal smoke emerges with an elegant salty note. The finish is long, fresh, and refined, marked by vanilla, citrus, and a delicate smokiness.
