Liqueur made from the infusion of wild, hand-harvested elderflowers. Black elder, also known as Judas tree, is a 3 to 5-metre shrub that grows in temperate zones such as Europe, Western Asia and parts of Africa. In late spring, the elderberry is adorned with small, creamy-white flowers with a characteristic heady fragrance. Used since ancient times for its therapeutic virtues, elderberry is widely recognized as a medicinal plant and is still widely used around the world today. Every part of the elderberry has a distinct use: from the berry, to the bark, to the flower. The small, cream-colored flowers of wild elderberry are hand-picked in spring, dried naturally and then macerated in alcohol.
