In 1948, Normandy was still _x000D_ recovering from the second _x000D_ world war and farmers started to _x000D_ make stocks of calvados and Eau _x000D_ de Vie de Cidre again. Almost _x000D_ all the stocks of the previous _x000D_ years had either been taken by the _x000D_ french government for the use of _x000D_ the war (to make gun powder !) or _x000D_ drunk during occupation. _x000D_ However, a rare Eau de vie de _x000D_ Cidre has been kept in casks _x000D_ since that and we are very happy _x000D_ to offer you this unique bottle, _x000D_ distilled in 1948 and bottled _x000D_ this year after nearly 70 years _x000D_ of aging in oak casks. One can _x000D_ estimate that the evaporation _x000D_ rate of this Eau de Vie has been _x000D_ closed to 90% of the stock since its _x000D_ distillation. _x000D_
