CARONI 2000 Millennium Limited to 1420 Magnum. Bot 2015.

Nose : rich, powerful. First, notes of asphalt and tar mix with exotic fruit (passion fruit, mango) and dried fruit (fig, date). It then develops into the aromas of hydrocarbon which characterize Caroni, alongside spices (pepper, ginger) and vanilla. Salt is gradually deposited on noble wood, along with pipe tobacco and toasted walnuts.

Palate : lively, concentrated. The attack is particularly fruity (banana, pineapple). It develops into notes of turpentine and citrus fruit (orange, grapefruit). The midpalate is svelte. It is characterised by dark chocolate and cinnamon. A handful of red fruit (strawberry, raspberry) gradually leave their mark on the taste palette. The nose and palate are now in perfect symbiosis.

Overall : long, silky. The texture of the palate becomes increasingly delicate. Ripe fruit (Mirabelle plum, pear, tangerine) appears shortly afterwards. It brings with it an even smoother end to the palate. Heady florals (geranium, rose, hyacinth) perfume the retro-nasal olfaction. The empty glass is ashy (charred wood) and liquoricey. Much later, apricot jam and marmalade arrive to gently coat the taste buds.
