A grappa made from Moscato Giallo grapes, a variety that appears in many wines in the the north-east of Italy, especially the Alto Adige, Friuli Isonzo and Trentino DOCs. Distilled by Capovilla, the Master distiller, in his water-bath stills, just outside the town of Bassano, Grappa di Muscato Giallo is a concentrated, resinous eau de vie, characterised by notes of fruit (lemon, Williams pear) and flowers (hyacinth).

Nose : Concentrated, rich. It fibrous, resinous profile bursts with highly concentrated fruit: grapefruit, lemon, crisp William pears, white peaches and heady white flowers (lily of the valley, hyacinth).

Palate : Delicately perfumed (hyacinths, hollyhocks). The fruit spreads over the entire palate. In their wake, one finds pleasant mentholated and herbaceous notes (sage, rosemary). The taste buds are kept constantly alert, ready for fresh discoveries.

Overall : Long, vinous. The grapes explode with a delicate, liquorice bitterness, revealing crisp flesh and silky tannins. Heady retronasal olfaction. The empty glass is lemony and slightly camphorated.
