PROFILE : This single malt reveals a fine, complex profile, featuring fruity, vanilla, honeyed, herbal and malt notes. Selected exclusively by La Maison du Whisky for the Les Anthologistes Collection, this single cask No. 5295 was matured in a hogshead cask and bottled at cask strength.

Nose : refined and expansive. At first, aromas of Williams pear, candied lemon, coconut milk, verbena and vanilla envelop an extremely delicate peat. With aeration, honeyed (acacia), liquorice (stick), herbal (cut hay) and waxy notes bring remarkable brightness and fullness to a luminous aromatic profile.

Palate : distinguished and accomplished. Showcasing a peat that has become crumbly, almost sandy, the palate also radiates exotic flavours (banana, pineapple), vegetal notes (alfalfa, straw), milky nuances (coconut, almond) and citrus. With time, a delicate touch of fleur de sel settles over juicy white fruits (apple, pear, mirabelle plum).

Overall : noble and airy. Carried by wisps of smoke with subtle vegetal (twigs) and ashy aromas, it is enriched by flavours of milk tart and echoes of an ethereal peat that forms its foundation. Milky (barley porridge), herbal (nettle) and marked by a pleasant malty bitterness, the retro-olfaction takes us to the seaside, breathing in an iodine-rich sea air.
