A Revelation of Cask and Character 19 Year Old pays tribute to the distillery's coopers, the men who, like Ian McDonald, head cooper and who have worked at the distillery for over 50 years, devote themselves body and soul to this ancestral craft, essential to the creation of whisky. Aged entirely in Oloroso Sherry casks, the creation of this whisky saw Scottish coopers collaborate with Spanish bodegas, with Ian McDonald and his team at the centre of the creation of this liquid, and Kelsey McKennie, Malt Master of The Balvenie, describes it as "the perfect way to highlight the background and expertise of our coopers".
