It all began in 1525, when the artist Bernardino Luini, a pupil of Leonardo da Vinci, was commissioned to embellish the Sanctuary of Saronno. To represent the Virgin Mary, Bernardino chose a beautiful local innkeeper. Moved, the beautiful innkeeper prepared for the artist a bottle filled with a fragrant, delicate amber-colored liqueur... It was from a simple gesture of kindness and a recipe made from secret ingredients that the legend of Disaronno was born. In the 1600s, the Reina family rediscovered the recipe for this same amber liqueur, which has since been handed down from generation to generation, preserving its secret. In the early 1900s, Domenico Reina decided to open a workshop in the heart of Saronno. The store soon became a popular stopping-off place for people to discover his products. In 1947, ILLVA SARONNO was founded in the wake of this artisan activity. And it was in 1971 that Disaronno was finally presented in a square bottle with faceted glass, which has since become the brand's emblematic bottle. Since then, Disaronno has never ceased to seduce with its extremely aromatic and gourmet profile.
