60%single malt whisky70cLindia/bangalore Ref 64125

250.00 €

i.e. 357.14 € / liter

Made with barley peated and malted in Scotland, like the Amrut 2014 also found in the New Vibrations catalogue, this version was matured in an ex-port cask. The flavour and aroma palette can be broken down into three very distinct sequences. A first olfactory act sees the peat and Lusitanian wine come together for the first time. A second gustatory act sees peat clearly take the upper hand. In the third and final act, peat and port dialogue on equal terms.

Color : Cuivre orangé soutenu..

Nose : Rich, deep. Animal (bacon, leather), smoky (ashes) and deliciously fruity (apricot, mango), the first nose is impressively full. Allowed to breathe, aromas of toast, spice bread and dark chocolate bring the aroma palette lots of richness and vitality.

Palate : Lively, distinguished. Magnificently herbal (cut hay), malted, smoky and animal (smoked lard), the attack is peppery and hot (Espelette pepper). The mid-palate threads its roots into a peaty soil seeped in mineral salts. The end of the palate is lightly empyreumatic (incense).

Overall : Long, concentrated. Curry flavours flood the taste buds. In the aftertaste, the port brings red and black fruits (strawberry, raspberry, bramble, cherry). At the end of the finish, notes of ylang ylang take the flavour palette East.
