Made with barley grown on the plateaus of the Himalayas in the states of Punjab and Rajasthan, and malted on-site at the distillery in Bangalore, this Amrut was matured entirely in a port cask. From the nose to the palate, this version is characterized by a gentle reduction and reveals particularly dense and complex fruity and malty tones. With its deliciously oriental character, it offers a deeply charming finish.

Color : Vieil or à reflets cuivrés.

Nose : Powerful, concentrated. A fine fruity (grape) and vegetal (gum arabica) reduction sets the tone. Allowed to breathe, aromas of stewed fruits (grape, strawberry, apricot) escape into the air, followed by a dominant malted barley filled with chocolate nuances.

Palate : Taut, lively. Like the nose, the attack reveals light reduction. Very quickly, however, vanilla, exotic (mango, guava) and candied (apricot, walnut, pear) flavours refresh the taste buds. The mid-palate is praline, chocolatey and delicately liquorice.

Overall : Long, silky. Overflowing with freshness, the finish is characterized by notes of spearmint and bitter orange. The after-taste offers up delicious Turkish delight and a pistachio and rose-flower dessert. The very pure flavour palette has become more elegant and rich (custard tart, lychee).
