Nose : Opulent, it opens with woody and ripe fruit notes, accompanied by beautiful hints of citrus and acacia honey. Then, the malted barley becomes more prominent and lively, to the point where you might feel like you're in a malt floor, and tropical fruits become more intense, with mango, pineapple, as well as quince and bergamot. Finally, it develops finely spiced and chocolaty notes.

Palate : Rich and velvety, it echoes the fruity and spicy malt notes from the nose. Its rich and oily texture enhances the toasted and vanilla notes of caramel and chocolate, with flavors of flambéed pineapple, almond, and nutmeg.

Overall : Very long and indulgent, with flavors of papaya, candied orange, and malt.

Aikan, meaning "marriage" in Arawak, delights in challenging conventions by bridging the gap between Europe and the Caribbean, temperate and tropical climates, as well as the worlds of whisky and rum. Indeed, Aikan stands out as the only whisky that can claim to have been aged in the heart of the French West Indies in rum barrels.

While the whiskies used in the blend are distilled in Scotland and France, where they begin their maturation in ex-bourbon barrels, it is in Martinique that they continue their aging process in barrels previously used to age esteemed, often exceptionally aged, rums.
