PROFILE : This single malt reveals a rich and concentrated profile, featuring caramelised, oxidative, heady, jammy and honeyed notes. Selected exclusively by La Maison du Whisky for the Les Anthologistes Collection, this single cask No. 3 was matured in a first-fill oloroso sherry butt and bottled at cask strength.

Nose : rich, concentrated. Coated with a fine layer of salted butter caramel and aromas of black liquorice, the initial nose develops towards oxidative notes (sherry vinegar, mirabelle plum eau-de-vie) and tertiary aromas (date, fig). With aeration, the aromatic palette reveals heady floral notes (iris, wallflower), jammy fruit (greengage) and honeyed tones (linden).

Palate : full, rich. A combination of praline and vanilla, the palate is supported by citrus and spicy flavours (cinnamon, white pepper). Increasingly milky (coconut, almond) and autumnal (currant, chestnut), it moves into saffron-infused territory, balancing the salinity of fleur de sel with deliciously candied pear and mirabelle plum.

Overall : dense, balanced. In perfect harmony, oxidative (apricot rancio), oriental (curry), indulgent (nougat) and tangy (lemon) flavours bring great class to an extremely compact finish. Malty, creamy and honeyed (acacia), the retro-olfaction reveals resinous (pine), spicy (candied ginger) and empyreumatic notes (emery cloth, wood filler).
