This awamori comes from the Yamakawa distillery, which specializes in kusu type awamori, aged at least 3 years. This edition bottled by 3S has been matured for more than 10 years in stainless steel tanks and has a relatively high alcohol content for an awamori at 43% alc. Produced only in the Okinawa islands from Thai long rice, awamori is a cousin of shochu which generally has a more pronounced koji character, giving it more power and spicy notes.
