Located in Saint-André, north-west of the Etang de Bois-Rouge on Reunion Island, the distillery that produced this rum makes both agricultural and molasses rums. Selected from the Belgian trading house The Nectar of the Daily Dram, founded by two enthusiasts, Mario Groteklaes and Jan Broekmans, this version was first aged in a bourbon cask before being matured in a Pineau des Charentes cask. Delicate yet profound, its range of aromas and flavours plunges us instantly into the world of Savanna. Voluptuous scents of artichoke base emerge from the empty glass.

Nose : Rich, concentrated. Medicinal, camphorated, mentholated, herbaceous (sugar cane) and fruity (orange), the aromatic palette is particularly complex. When aired, the scents of pepper, tiger balm and light tobacco make it even more distinctive.

Appearance : Or pâle.

Palate : Lively and unctuous. Deliciously vanilla and lemony, the range of flavours evolves smoothly over a background of artichoke of rare precision. It becomes milky (coconut), fruity (mirabelle plum, Williams pear) and medicinal (band-aid), and is gradually flooded with remarkably fresh cane juice.

Overall : Long and fresh. In perfect continuity with the palate, the taste is now more exotic (pineapple, combava, banana), mineral (limestone, slate) and mentholated. The aftertaste is smoother and more reminiscent.
