After years of research, the Rum Nation range was launched by Italian oenologist Fabio Rossi in 1999. Aged in a sherry cask previously used for the Macduff single malt, this version is constantly flitting between Jamaica and Scotland. Both original and classic at the same time, its palette of flavours and aromas reveals extraordinary generosity and freshness. This dual expression is found throughout the tasting in fruity, medicinal and empyreumatic tones.

Nose : Rich, deep. The medicinal first nose (ointment, elastoplast) is at once vegetal (sugar cane), vanilla (pod), empyreumatic (polished wood, glue) and terpenic (lava). Allowed to breathe, cane sugar, fresh fruit (banana, pear), spices (green pepper) and new fruits (pineapple, canary melon) literally surge from the glass.

Palate : Lively, full-bodied. Exotic (banana, pineapple), vanilla, rooty (gentian) and spicy (clove, ginger), the attack is the logical continuation of the nose. On the mid-palate, sugar cane releases a floral yet syrupy and very fresh juice.

Overall : Long, well-balanced. While evoking a vanilla flan, the finish is also characterized by notes of fresh fruit (pear, Golden Delicious apple, white grape). The complex after-taste is herbal (lucerne), aniseedy, spicy (cinnamon, clove) and empyreumatic (gum arabica).
