This exceptional blend brings together whiskies that are at least 38 years old from Chivas Brothers. Royal Salute 38 Year Old takes its name from the Stone of Destiny. For centuries, the Stone of Destiny has been used in the coronation ceremonies of the ancient kings and queens of Scotland. This symbol of Scotland was taken to Westminster Abbey in London in 1296. The Stone of Destiny was last used at the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. In 1996, 700 years after it was brought to England, it was returned to Scotland and is now in Edinburgh Castle with Scotland's other honours. Its hand-cut bottle bears a gold-plated escutcheon.
