The Italian bottler Whisky Antique is owned by Massimo Righi and located some ten miles from Modena in the town of Formigine. Under the name Silver Seal, it bottles highly sought after Caribbean rums and Scottish single malts. Distilled in the legendary double wooden pot still that was transferred in 1999 to Diamond, the only distillery in Guyana still in operation, this magnificent Port Mourant reveals an aroma palette whose medicinal character is crowned with incredibly fresh fruity and vegetal nuances.

Color : Jaune doré.

Nose : Both refined and heady. A combination of cane sugar, sugar cane and bourbon vanilla, the first nose is impressively full and fresh. Allowed to breathe, the aroma palette becomes exotic (pineapple, banana), mentholated and medicinal (arnica). Fine notes of sleet, ripe fruits and lava add to the telluric dimension.

Palate : Full, well-balanced. With vanilla and syrupy (grape) smoothness, the attack is seeped in flavours of coconut milk, almond paste and roasted pineapple. On the mid-palate, white fruits (peach, pear) flood the taste buds with their deliciously tangy juices.

Overall : Long, rich. At the start of the finish, notes of lavender honey add a floral dimension to the flavour palette. Evoking freshly cut sugar cane, the after-taste is especially expressive. At the very end of the finish, fresh ginger and nutmeg shower the tongue.
