Hampden: the legacy of an iconic Jamaican rum

Founded in 1753, Hampden Estate is one of the oldest sugar plantations in Jamaica, located in the Spanish Queen Valley. Renowned for its powerful and aromatic pot still rums, the distillery has endured through centuries while preserving its traditional artisanal production methods.
Owned at various times by prominent Jamaican families, it played a significant role in local history, from constructing the Falmouth wharf during World War I to contributing to the architectural heritage of the University of the West Indies.
In 2009, the estate was acquired by Everglades Farms Ltd., which revitalized production with a strong commitment to traditional craftsmanship.
After beginning to age its rums in 2010, Hampden launched its first official bottlings in 2018, marking a new era for this iconic distillery.
