In Planteray Rum's signature double-ageing technique, this unique expression is aged 9 years in Mauritius, then shipped by sea to the south-west of France, where it matured another two years in Ferrand casks.
A true embodiment of the island's terroir, and tribute to the wild spirit of the Indian Ocean, this 2013 vintage was distilled at the oldest distillery of Mauritius. Tropical fruit notes are combined with dark chocolate and orange peel.
Nose : Fruity with caramel, vanilla, and citrus notes of lemon, passion fruit, banana, and coconut. Undertones of nutmeg and tobacco enrich the complexity.
Palate : Dried fruit, exotic guava and hints of rose lend a floral, fragrant finish
Overall : Finishing on black tea, pepper with dry orange peel
