PENDERYN Celt

Nose : original, fresh. Despite giving the impression it was never there, the peat has a strong influence on the aromatic palette. It is nonetheless happy to leave the talking to chocolate, aquatic (water lily, reeds) and fruity (pineapple, Golden Delicious apple) notes. It then becomes more oily and earthy, and smoke makes its first appearance. Altogether it is harmonious and full of life.

Palate : firm, lively. Just like the nose, the palate reveals an oily peat, notes of tobacco and fresh fruit. The mid-palate is spicy (cinnamon, grated ginger) with hints of rubber, before red fruits (raspberry, strawberry) invade. At this point the peat becomes much more discreet.

Overall : long, smooth. With remarkable freshness, the finish is characterised by notes of melon and watermelon. It is lactic and clearly evokes the tumult of the fermentation process. The retro-nasal olfaction expresses a gentle chocolatey, creamy character. This Penderyn is remarkably concentrated, from the nose to the finish. The empty glass unmistakably echoes the initial nose.
