The dean of fruit brandies, Kirsch is Alsace's iconic brandy. In the Villé valley, Kirsch is also historically known as "the king of brandies".
Kirsch comes from the distillation of a variety of guignes: 11 kg of small, large-pitted black mountain cherries per liter of eau-de-vie. 5 years ageing brings out slightly nutty aromas (bitter almond).
