Founded in 1997, Ninkasi brewery - distillery is at the heart of the Rhône region. Winegrower and distiller, Alban Perret traveled this famous wine regions to meet his fellow winegrowers and select the best barrels to age the brand’s whiskies. Ninkasi’s single malts are distilled from the finest malted barley, combining its expertise as both a brewer and distiller with the treasures of the wine regions.
Ninkasi Whisky Chardonnay is the very first permanent single malt of the distillery. It is a blend of new French oak, ex-chardonnay and viognier casks.
Once the bottle is opened, fragrances of tonka bean and salted butter caramel intermingle on a background of white grapes. Stewed apricot and plum flavors coat the palate. The finish is long and smooth. A light hint of smoke reminding the freshness of lemon thyme completes the experience.
