Single Malt Komagatake is produced at the Mars Shinshu Distillery, located at the foot of Komagatake Mountain in the Central Alps, which is surrounded by abundant nature. With fresh air and water gifted from the mountains, Mars has been committed to making the best craft at any given opportunity. The Single Malt Komagatake Shinshu aging “2022 Edition” represents the core expression of our single malt product, which is made mainly from bourbon barrels aged whisky, accented with sherry casks aged whisky and port casks aged whisky. You will find the common characteristics of Komagatake: an elegant, rich and oily whiskey.

Nose : It starts with fruity notes of apricot and banana, followed by an elegant and deep aroma reminiscent of apple tea.

Appearance : Vieil or cuivré.

Palate : Beginning with the dried plum-like taste, a hazelnut aroma from the sherry casks. At the end the gentle sweetness of acacia honey spreads and create complexity.

Overall : Comfortable with a smooth and clean finish. Rich and full impression, slightly tannic. Pleasant flavors of ripe persimmon last.
