A Macallan 18 year old distilled in 1973 and bottled in 1991. There have been many Macallan 18 Year Olds, with vintages dating back to 1965 and bottlings to 1984. When Macallan recovered its bottling rights from Campbell, Hope and King in 1980, it added a 17 year old and 18 year old to the existing range, which was until then focused on vintage 15 year olds and, to a lesser extent, 8 year olds and 12 year olds. It was this 18 year old that became a long-lasting staple and classic of the range.
