Founded initially in 1821 by Peter Brown, the first Linkwood distillery was dismantled and completely rebuilt by Brown’s son William in 1872. In 1971, four stills were installed in a second adjacent distillery named Linkwood B. The two stills at the old distillery, now named Linkwood A, were then permanently mothballed in 1996. This stunning bottling is fresh, elegant, smooth and open. It has no qualms in venturing off the beaten track to showcase its breathtaking natural charm.

Nose : fresh yet heady. Candied lemon, acacia honey, fresh walnut and rice shape the initial contours of this very nuanced aroma palette. Allowed to breathe, tarragon and infused herbs (sage, vervain) flood the air.

Appearance : jaune doré.

Palate : ample, fleshy. Giving its own take on the aromas from the nose, the palate adds surprising cucumber notes and white fruits (pear, Mirabelle plum). This dichotomy brings freshness and tone to the end of the palate.

Overall : long, serene. Gentle vanilla appears on the finish, accompanied by a floral dimension (lily of the valley, white lilac) and heightened richness (courgette tempura). In the after-taste, coconut milk spreads deliciously across the palate.
