"iessi" means "to be, to exist" in Friulian, the regional language of Friuli Venezia Giulia. It is also an alcohol-free aperitif crafted in a small distillery in Trieste from plant extracts and natural infusions such as cinchona bark, gentian root, and bitter orange. Inspired by the recipe of his Friulian grandmother’s bitter, this new creation
by Nicolas Maiarelli captivates with its delightful bitterness and vibrant notes of citrus, ginger, and cherry, highlighted by a hint of chili pepper. While it can be enjoyed simply over ice or diluted with sparkling water, Iessi also makes it possible to create iconic cocktails like the Americano or the Negroni.
