Founded in 1999, the Tasmanian distillery Hellyer's Road is equipped with two stainless steel stills with copper heads and swan necks. It is owned by a dairy cooperative: Betta Milk. For ageing, it uses mainly old bourbon casks, but also casks that have contained a local red wine. Extremely seductive, the aromatic and taste palette of this "Original" version is a subtle blend of classicism and exuberance. Direct and with a freedom of tone that commands admiration, as you taste it, it plays its trump cards with great force.

Nose : The nose is drawn to omnipresent wafts of Hellyers Roads signature citrus and marmalade nuances with butterscotch and elevated notes of dried apricots .

Palate : The palate is in receipt of a vanilla sweetness - courtesy of the American Oak maturation, with almond nuttiness in a duet with shortbread hints. A lively mouthfeel comes courtesy of the cask strength vibrancy.

Overall : This cask strength expression proudly boasts intensity. It confidently puts time, place, and flavour at the heart of its character. Self-assured and defiant with a defined finish, a delightfully rewarding single malt that is further enhanced by its time in the cask.
