Nose : Rich, suave. Delicately peppery and candied (orange marmalade), the aromatic profile gradually develops tertiary notes of great maturity (fig, marzipan, roasted nuts). Increasingly oxidative (currants) and empyreumatic (burnt cane, incense), it evolves into honeyed (geranium) and heady (orris butter) accents that are utterly captivating.

Appearance : vieil or à reflets cuivrés.

Palate : Lively yet unctuous. Marked by bold flavours of macerated fruits (mango, guava), diesel oil, and candied ginger, the taste profile takes a surprising turn from the nose. Powdery (cocoa), milky (almond), and oily, its texture is refined and delicate. Gradually, a gentle dusting of cinnamon falls across the palate.

Overall : Silky, tannic. Scented cane sugar and orris butter lead into a remarkably intense finish. Powdery (cocoa, ginger), fruity (mango), floral (mignonette, carnation), and liquorice-laced, the retro-olfaction offers a well-rounded synthesis of both nose and palate. Later, the empty glass highlights the medicinal and terpenic character typical of Hampden.
