HAKUTSURU BLANC

Hakutsuru Blanc is a refreshing, low-alcohol sake to be enjoyed as a lively, easy-drinking white wine.

Pale straw in color, reminiscent of a vinho verde, it has a delicately fruity bouquet, with notes of apple and lime. This promise of fruit is fulfilled on the palate, with green apple and pear leading to dried apricot and hints of vanilla. The texture is soft and velvety, not unlike that of a Chardonnay. The medium sweetness is balanced by the fresh, natural acidity of the white koji, which gives it more depth, and a firm, bright finish that leaves you wanting more.

Its low alcohol content means it can be enjoyed on its own, but it can also be paired with food. It's the ideal companion for savory snacks, nuts in particular, and nutty cheeses like Gouda or Gruyère. Its sweetness will stand up well to spicier dishes, samossas, squid and pepper or chorizo. Its natural acidity goes well with salmon dishes, fish cakes and mussels marinière.
