Distilled in 2008, this Glentauchers bottled at 46% by Gordon & Macphail is a worthy representative of the relationship between the distillery and the independent bottler. This Speyside single malt has a fruity, gourmand character, opening with notes of walnut, pepper and cinnamon. Glentauchers distillery, founded in 1897 in Keith, Speyside, is best known for its whisky production for blends. Created by James Buchanan and W.P. Lowrie, it has played an important role in the history of Scotch whisky, notably for the Black & White blend. Now owned by Pernod Ricard, Glentauchers produces an elegant, complex single malt, characterized by fruity and floral notes. Although rarely marketed as a single malt, its whisky is appreciated for its smoothness and subtlety, the result of meticulous, traditional production methods. The Distillery Labels range reflects the special relationship Gordon & MacPhail has enjoyed with a handful of distilleries for over a century. Entrusted year after year with new make spirits (distillates), Gordon & MacPhail has developed its art of whisky maturation, showcasing each expression under a unique label.
