The Original is the fundamental expression of the House of Glenmorangie. Distilled in Scotland's highest stills, then aged in first and second fill Bourbon casks. Our Master Distiller, Dr. Bill Lumsden, is constantly exploring new ways to bring new flavors and possibilities to our whiskies. That's why Dr. Bill decided to add two more years of aging, reaching 12 years of age, to give our signature whisky more smoothness and complexity, while retaining its characteristic notes of citrus, honey, vanilla and peach.
Nose : The aroma of vanilla softens the scent of citrus and ripe peaches. With the addition of a dash of water, floral notes of geranium are revealed, along with apricot, bergamot, mandarin, eucalyptus and ginger.
Palate : An elegant, complex palate of fruity and floral flavors. Followed by notes of vanilla, crunchy almonds, coconut and sweet spices.
Overall : The finish is clean, with hints of orange and peach.
