Distilled in 2009, this Glenallachie was aged for 15 years in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks before being bottled at its natural strength of 65.6%. This Speyside single malt has a rich and powerful profile, revealing aromas of walnut, licorice, and cherry. Founded in 1967 in the heart of Speyside, GlenAllachie had long remained in the shadows, used mainly for blends. Everything changed in 2017 when Billy Walker (formerly of BenRiach and GlenDronach) took over the distillery and gave it a new identity. GlenAllachie now produces a rich, full-bodied, and indulgent single malt, with a fine mastery of aging in sherry casks, revealing notes of dark fruits, spices, and chocolate.
