Named Hispaniola after its discovery by Christopher Columbus in 1492, the Dominican Republic was the first Caribbean country to cultivate sugarcane. Initially exporting its sugar production to the United States, it wasn’t until the 19th century that the first iconic local rum brands began to emerge. Aged for fourteen years on site, this rum then continued its maturation under continental conditions. Fully matured in Madeira casks, its aromatic and flavour profile has acquired remarkable depth and expressive nobility, with an irresistibly seductive character. Both classic and flamboyant, it reaches its peak in a vibrant, insatiable, and lively finish.

Color : cuivre orangé soutenu.

Nose : Both firm and smooth. Gracefully shaped by its Madeira cask ageing, the aromatic profile reveals precise notes of roasted peanut, toffee, orange zest, and dried apricot. With aeration, it becomes peppery, exotic (mango, guava), and balsamic (pine).

Palate : Lively, taut. Energised by orange zest, the flavour profile faithfully mirrors the rancio tones of the nose before evolving into a more unctuous texture. Notes of cane sugar, chocolate cream, and guava soon take over the entire palate.

Overall : Delicate, crunchy. Red fruits (raspberry, wild strawberry), heather honey, saffron, and gentian add ever more complexity to a serene and balanced conclusion. In the retro-olfaction, notes of blooming geranium, sandalwood, and salted butter caramel lend a final touch of elegance.
